Pocket Horizon

‘It’s a delight to introduce this excellent short collection of poems…Pocket Horizon represents a wholly successful collaboration, and it’s my hope that we see many more.’ – Don Paterson

Pocket Horizon was published in autumn 2013 by Valley Press and launched at the Science Museum, London.

The book is an anthology of poetry and artwork inspired by objects from the Whipple Museum of the History of Science in Cambridge, and Wellcome Collection in London. The artwork is by historical illustrator Cassie Herschel-Shorland.

We were delighted to work with Don Paterson, who led a Masterclass Workshop to develop the poems, introduced the collection, and wrote his own poem, ‘A Pocket Horizon,’ which can be heard here.

To hear poets reading from Pocket Horizongo to this podcast on the Sick City Blog, and read a review of Pocket Horizon in The Lancet.

It is available from Valley Press.
